About Me

Hi, I’m Chee Kiong, a community pharmacist in Malaysia and the voice behind Strength Through Mindfulness.
By profession, I help people care for their health; by passion, I explore how mindfulness and fitness can nurture both body and mind.

I’m also a quiet observer by nature — my MBTI type is INFJ, which probably explains why I often find meaning in small moments: a deep breath before a busy day at the pharmacy, the rhythm of lifting weights, or the stillness that comes after meditation.

Outside work, I’m a book lover who constantly struggles to finish the books I own (a familiar battle between curiosity and time!). But I’ve learned that sometimes, the value of a book lies not in finishing it, but in the single sentence that lingers — the one that changes how I see life.

About Strength Through Mindfulness

🌿 My Journey Toward Strength, Calm, and Clarity

There was a time when I lived almost entirely on autopilot — balancing work, fitness goals, and daily responsibilities without truly feeling present. My days were efficient but rarely mindful. I could be in the gym yet feel mentally somewhere else; I could drink my morning coffee yet not remember its taste.

It wasn’t until I started exploring mindfulness that I realized strength is not only built in muscles, but also in awareness — the quiet kind that steadies the mind, softens reactions, and helps us meet life with calm clarity.

Strength Through Mindfulness was born from that realization — a space where reflection meets action, and where inner peace becomes a form of everyday strength.

🧘‍♂️ Why I Started This Blog

As someone who’s always been interested in both physical fitness and mental well-being, I began to see how closely the two are connected.
A calm mind sustains consistent habits. A strong body supports emotional balance.

But mindfulness isn’t something we “achieve” — it’s something we practice, moment by moment.
And so, I started writing. To understand myself better. To slow down. To share insights that might help others find the same balance between movement and stillness.

Here, I document lessons from daily life — during meditation, at the gym, while traveling, or even while handling frustration at work. Each story becomes a mirror for awareness.

💪The Philosophy Behind Strength Through Mindfulness

True strength, to me, is not about resistance — it’s about harmony.
It’s being able to hold awareness even when life gets noisy.
It’s staying soft without losing focus, patient without losing direction.

As Thich Nhat Hanh wrote,

“When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace, and love.”

This philosophy guides both my writing and my life — to cultivate calm while staying active, to be mindful without withdrawing from the world.
